Sixth Schedule
The Stonites attended a Panel Discussion on “Sixth Schedule, TIPRA Accords & Negotiating the Future of Northeast” organized by One Northeast in collaboration with the Research & Development Cell, Unity College, at IMC Hall, Dimapur, on 30th August 2025.
The discussion was divided in two sessions. The first session, moderated by Dr. Phikuto Chishi, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Unity College, featured Mr. Daniel Lanthasa and Mrs. Patricia Mukhim as panelists. Both penalist emphasized the historical background and significance of the Sixth Schedule for the tribal communities of Northeast India.
The second session was an interactive conversation between Mr. Mmhonlumo Kikon and Mr. Maharaja Pradyot Manikya, focusing on the TIPRA Accords.
The programme concluded successfully, highlighting contemporary issues related to policy frameworks, immigration, and accountability, while underscoring the crucial role of innovation, participation, and unity in the effective implementation of the Sixth Schedule.The panel discussion was highly beneficial for all the attendees enriching their understanding and providing valuable insights into the socio-political landscape of Northeast India.
