CIHSR ORIENTATION CUM EXHIBITION OF ALLIED HEALTH SERVICES 2022

Students from Livingstone Foundation International attended a one day orientation-cum-exhibition on Allied Health Sciences (AHS) programmes for the high-school and higher secondary school students (science stream) which was organised at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), Dimapur on 12th November 2022. 

The exhibition featured face to face interaction with the course organisers, latest 3D cardiac imagining tools and food stalls. Altogether, 500 students from 15 different schools under Dimapur participated in the event according to the medical official. The primary aim of the event was to create awareness amongst the school going students on the available AHS professional courses. In total, 10 different stalls were set up showcasing 10 allied health science courses such as, Health Information Management, Cardiology, Rehabilitation Science etc. 

Students were shown demonstrations of different models of the human body, equipments used during examination apart from the career counselling session with the experts on the field. This was mainly done in order to show the students hands-on-experiences on what they would use in a hospital and to let them choose the right profession.

The event also marked a career talk which was presented by Dr Paul Ravindran, Principal of Allied Health Science Services (Northeast Regional Multi-disciplinary Paramedical Institute) during the course of which he informed the students about numerous lucrative career opportunities in the field of medicine apart from the regular career of a doctor or nurse. Towards the end of the event, the students were made to vote for the best department among the exhibits.
