CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION 2022

This year, the Children’s Day celebration at Livingstone Foundation International was a fun and excitement filled event with various colourful activities. The event was held at the Main Assembly area of the school with a memorable programme which began at 10:30 AM.

The programme was chaired by Mr. Thuireishang Jamang and Ms. Romela Zeliang. It began with the rendition of the school anthem led by Ms. Aleno Khatso and Mr. Norbert Achung. Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director LFI brought the greetings on behalf of the school management and also pronounced a special prayer for the children.

Speaking on the sidelines of the celebration of the Children’s Day in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi highlighted that childhood is a special phase of our lives and that we should live life to the fullest during this golden era of our lives. She stated that mentors become true educators only because children give them a reason to carry forward their mission and vision of educating for life and not just for exams. She also cautioned the children of the various forms of evils and crimes that are taking place in the society against the children and also exhorted the gathering to be emphatic towards the less privileged children whose lives can be elevated by taking up certain humanitarian steps like donating old and used books, clothes, blankets, etc.

The programme was made much more vibrant by a couple of colorful items presented by the mentors, much to the delight of the students. Mr. Prem Mech belted a Hindi mash-up number while Ms. Kajenkala Longchar performed a special dance. A very heart touching and memorable poem composed by Ms. Marmenla Ozukum was also recited on the occasion by Ms. Vimeyieno. The event was also marked by Prize Distribution of the best two students in each grade for their Summer Assignments and CCA activities.

A special part of this year’s celebration was the Food Fiesta conducted by the Commerce Department of LFIduring which the students along with the mentors put up food stalls showcasing various cuisines and delicacies for the sumptuous pleasure of all. Additionally, there were numerous activities as part of the celebration which included inter-grade and inter-house games sessions.
