1ST NAGALAND EDU CONNECT CONCLAVE 2022
The students as well as mentors of Livingstone Foundation International participated in the 1st Nagaland Edu Connect Conclave that was held at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on 13th of May 2022. The conclave was organized by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in association with the Northeast Education Council (NEEC) under the theme ‘Investment for the Future’. The primary aim of the conclave is to attract prominent educational institutions to open branches of the institutions in Nagaland. It will also serve as a one-stop center, where the students can get first-hand knowledge about the institutions.
During the event students from various institutions, including LFI explored different stalls where they got to learn about the courses, fee structures and facilities being offered by various national as well as international institutions. It was insightful and a beneficial event for the students as they were able to gather first hand information from the prestigious institutions, colleges and universities from all over India and even abroad.
As part of the conclave a separate training session entitled ‘Empowering Youths Through Teachers’ was also conducted for the mentors at the Conference Hall of Hotel Saramati. The training was facilitated by Mr. C.V. Ramanan, Chief Architect of Engage India Initiative Architect of Aspirations Profiling and Management. Opening the session, Mr. Ramanan remarked that education has a symbiotic relationship with teacher education as teachers are the frontline providers of quality education. The speaker mentioned the necessity of holistic development by not just focusing on the marks of students but adding value to their life and learning. He also mentioned about the importance of being an educator who can take extra step and add the element of surprise and creativity in the classroom environment.
The speaker expressed happiness at the prospect that this kind of programme will be eye opener for all the educators and implementing these would bring about a huge transformation in students success rate. The training session concluded on a note of mass commitment by the mentors – to be right, non-bias, compassionate, genuine and to go beyond mark. LFI was represented by Mr. Gideon Sangma, Ms. Alivi Yepthomi and Mr. Daewon Nongrem during the training programme.
