LFI COLLEGE ORGANIZES LITERARY DAY
Livingstone Foundation International College organized its Literary Day on 6th November 2021 under the theme ‘Creative Arts’. The event was marked by an array of activities and began with an opening program conducted by the Department of English. The opening program was compered by Ms. Atheli from Dept. of English. She also exhorted the gathering on the importance of literary events and their essence for the growth of the students’ academic as well as intellectual well-being.
The invocation prayer was led by Ms. Sorikumla (Dept. of English). This was followed by the College Anthem conducted by Ms. Libo. A special and melodious group song was also presented by the students from Dept. of English. The opening program concluded with the benediction by Ms. Nukenjungla Lemtur (Dept of English).
Various competitions were conducted throughout the day with the purpose of encouraging and enhancing the improvisatory, artistic and writing skills of the students. In the Story Writing Competition, the theme was open for the students to creatively outline and generate their own ideas. In this category of competition, Sentijungla (Dept. of Psychology) secured the first position followed by Kedithil Tetso (Dept. of English) and Icheel Khoirom (Dept. of Commerce) in second and third positions respectively. The Essay Writing Competition was conducted on the topic ‘My Role Model’ in which Miss Icheel Khoirom (Dept. of Commerce) won the first place while the second and third places were bagged by Longjong Ngonyen (Dept. of Education) and Akili Y. Sumi (Dept. of English) respectively.
A separate competition on painting and sketching was also conducted the same day on the theme ‘Addiction and Climate Change Crises’. While Miss Tiaienla Amri (Dept. of Psychology) secured the first position in painting, Ms. Jine Singh (Dept. of Pol. Sc.) aced in sketching. Miss Nukenjungla Lemtur (Dept. of English) secured the second followed by Anato Zhimomi (Dept. of English) who won the third prize. A much anticipated and exciting Extempore Speech Competition culminated the event. Astonishing the crowd with their adroitness and oratorical prowess, Miss Ameka K. Assumi (Dept. of Psychology) triumphed by securing the first place while Mr. Theyika K. Zhimomi (Dept. of Pol. Sc.) and Miss Atheli (Dept. of English) achieved the second and third positions. The Literary Day of LFIC garnered mass participation from the students, making the auspicious occasion into a memorable and grand event.
