Livingstone Foundation International College InauguratedOn the 24th of August, 2021, The Livingstone Foundation International College was inaugurated at Thahekhu/ Kevijau, Dimapur, honoured by the presence of Dr. Apeni Lotha, Director, Dept. Of Higher Education Govt. Of Nagaland, the unveiling of the inaugural stone was followed by a short programme which was led by Miss Sashirenla Mollier (Dept. Of Psychology). With the College anthem sung and resounding through the walls of the LFI chapel hall, Dr. Tainla Mar (Dept. Of Education) pronounced the invocation. Pastor Mughabeto K. Zimo from Thahekhu Village Baptist Church led the special prayer for both the unveiling as well as inauguration program of the day.The welcome address was given by Dr. R.K Behera, Principal LFIC. He welcomed each prominent guest and staff and gave a brief introduction to the College and courses provided. Dr. Behera said, “We are creating history today and we will remember this day forever. Today is the humble beginning of a great future.” He further encouraged the students to be always ready for change especially with the NEP 2020 in motion and said ,” Academics is for the Adventurous.” focusing on the fact that students need to keep up with the changing times.The Chairman of Livingstone Foundation International, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema felicitated guests with souvenirs. He also gave a brief history of Livingstone Foundation International which was set up in 1988 with 52 students and called the new upgradation of the School to a college a blessing from God. He also highlighted the need of building a better education system for students so that they may not only grow up with textual knowledge but grow up to be doers and achievers in every field. He further emphasized on the importance of making Nagaland an epicenter for education. He urged both Government as well as Private Colleges and Schools in Nagaland should have a symbiotic relationship in order to help the state produce good citizens who will in turn change the society. He further mentioned that State Government should look with equal eye towards both the Private as well as Government institution without being bias.A special number by Miss Renmmenla of Grade XII (Sc) was performed which was followed by a speech from the Special Guest Dr. Apeni Lotha Director Dept. of Higher Education Govt. of Nagaland. Dr. Apeni applauded the Chairman and the school for the many achievements and expansion. She said that she has a positive feeling that the college will grow fast and successfully. She also congratulated the chairman for the splendid set of college faculty led by Dr. R. K Behera and reminded the students that they are truly very lucky to be part of the institute. She further said that she is very impressed by the Vision of the college which is “To be architects of a golden tomorrow by giving rise to generations of thought leaders.” A donation was made by Dr. Apeni Lotha towards the college Library for its upgradation.The Chairman of Kevijau Village, Dimapur described Livingstone Foundation International “As bridge for both the Village I.e Thahekhu as well as Kevijau Village” and shown great precedence for Nagaland as a whole, he also thanked the institute for producing so many great and abled leaders. A host of Representatives from both the Village graced the occasion. Speech was also delivered by Mr. Vimeyieko Vitso, President, ANCSU who came along with all his rank and file office members. He welcomed the new students into the ANCSU and shared his wish for the college to grow towards producing aspirants who create a progressive state. He also called Dr. Andrew Ahoto an “Educational Reformer” and applauded his achievements. The Director of Livingstone Foundation International, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi Director LFI in her Vote of thanks speech gave all the glory to God and the hard work of the faculty. Thanking the guests and invitees, Mrs. Ani closed the programme with a quote, “An individual has not started living, until he rises above the confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.” – Martin Luther
