This year, the Children\u2019s Day celebration at Livingstone Foundation International was a fun and excitement filled event with various colourful and energetic activities. The event was held on 14th<\/sup> November 2023 at the Basketball Court of the school with a memorable programme which began at 10:30 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was hosted by Mrs. Pratikshya Basnet Thatal as the MC. It began with the invocation prayer pronounced by Mr. Pauly Varghese, Academic Dean which was followed by the Welcome Address by the Chairman, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema who spoke on the sidelines of the celebration of the Children\u2019s Day in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India who had a special place in his heart for the children. He highlighted that childhood is a special phase of our lives and that we should live life to the fullest during this golden era of our lives. He also emphasized that mentors become true educators only because children give them a reason to carry forward their mission and vision of educating for life and not just for exams. Later, Miss Zhimoholi S. Zhimomi pronounced a special prayer of blessing for the solemn occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most memorable part of the celebration was the honouring of 17 students of various grades with Certificates of Appreciation & Commendation by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director LFI, for their outstanding contribution in different areas. The students who received the special appreciation awards were Tanuj Sharma of XII-B Arts and Timosen Pongener of X-B for Photography, Imnatoshi Longkumer of XII-A Arts and Jon of XII-B Arts for Sports (Martial Arts), Ongba M. Angto of XII Sci and Ruangriu R Panmei of V-B for Music, Visali Sangtam of XII Sci for Scientific Innovation, Ayushi Bhowal of X-A for Fine Arts, Karma Chozom of X-A for Dance, Imlijungla Aier of X-A for Literature, Saomongba A Chang of XI Arts for All Round Contribution, Kivipu A Zhimomi of XII-B Arts for Sports, Sushikala Jamir of XII Sci for Chapel Music, Imnasungit Imsong, Phaojun Manpuru and  Heboka V. Assumi, all of XII Sci for Chapel Volunteering. The youngest among the awardees was Lydia Shohe who was awarded for her exceptional contribution as the Best Monitor of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was made much more vibrant by a couple of colorful items presented by the mentors, much to the delight of the students. Mr. Debu Sarkar belted a melodious Hindi number while female mentors created quite an electrifying moment by their exhilarating dance item. A special number was also intoned by Mr. Gideon Sangma which infused a soothing effect to the souls of many listeners. The special fashion show cum fancy dress show ramped up by the mentors and staff livened up the event further by its sheer hilarity and comical achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event came to its conclusive close with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Abigail Thapa, Coordinator which was followed by snacks and games for the students and mentors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
