{"id":2919,"date":"2023-05-31T11:53:01","date_gmt":"2023-05-31T06:23:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/livingstonenagaland.com\/school\/?p=2919"},"modified":"2023-06-05T11:56:53","modified_gmt":"2023-06-05T06:26:53","slug":"world-no-tobacco-day-awarness-sensitization-programme-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livingstonenagaland.com\/school\/2023\/05\/31\/world-no-tobacco-day-awarness-sensitization-programme-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY AWARNESS &amp; SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The World No Tobacco Day 2023 was observed at Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur on 31<sup>st<\/sup> May 2021 with an Awareness and Sensitization Programme for students and teachers which was conducted by the Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch in collaboration with the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), Health &amp; Family Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland. The theme for this year\u2019s World No Tobacco Day is \u2018We need Food, not Tobacco.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking during the programme as the Guest Speaker, Dr. Thungbeni Ngullie, Dental Surgeon from Crown Dental Care and Lab, Dimapur deliberated on some of the fundamental aspects of tobacco and its health hazards. She also spoke in brief about the different types of tobacco \u2013 smokeless and smoke. During her discourse, she busted several myths associated with the use of smokeless and smoke tobacco and also the use of weed among people especially the youngsters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Thungbeni also highlighted the adverse effects of smoking and chewing tobacco especially on women folk which are leading causes of cervical cancer and fertility issues besides affecting the oral health leading to bad breath, discoloration or pigmentation of teeth, painful ulcers and even pre-cancer lesions. She called upon the students to be aware of the adverse effects of tobacco and to keep oneself away from such bad habits as it has a huge impact on not only the user but also on his family, spouse, relatives and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, the guest speaker, Dr. Thungbeni Ngullie was felicitated by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director of Livingstone Foundation International. The awareness programme was led by Miss Zhimoholi S. Zhimomi, LFI Chaplain as the chairperson and coordinated by the LFI mentors including Mrs. Abigail Thapa, Mr. Isaac D. Athili, Ms. Alivi Yepthomi, Ms. Lilongla Sangtam and Mr. Loli Heni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\"
