STONITES BID FAREWELL TO CLASS-12 2015-16 BATCH
The management, teachers and students of Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School bid an emotional adieu to the outgoing Class-12 students from both Arts and Science streams in a colourful and memorable Farewell Function organized by the Class-11 students and the management on the 17th of February 2016 at the School’s Auditorium.
The programme, which started at 10:30 am, was compeered by Mr. Nabin Gurung and Ms. Vilivi P. Aye, both from Class-11(Sc). The invocation prayer was led by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Co-Ordinator and Junior Section Head. It was followed by numerous entertaining items including songs and dances presented by the Class-11 students as well as the outgoing students from Class-12.
In his exhortation, the Administrator, Mr. Arthur Edwards encouraged the students to follow the path of honour and discipline to succeed in life. He also highlighted the importance of the theme of the Farewell programme that was “Neglect not the Gift that is in Thee”.
Mr. Andrew Ahoto, the Chairman of the School in his speech called upon the students to always keep their dreams alive by making use of their latent talents. Through his usual manner of encouraging through heart touching anecdotes and examples, he exhorted the outgoing students to make the best possible use of the gift of talents and skills that God has bestowed upon them. He shared with the gathering the Biblical Parable of the Talents to highlight the importance of using one’s potentials to the fullest. He advised the students to reflect the spirit of Livingstone and its upbringing by being disciplined and smart in every aspect of their life. He also encouraged the Class-12 students that success is meant for every category of students but it comes to those who work persistently and dedicatedly to achieve one’s goal. He also reminded the students about this year’s unique memento which was collectively made by the junior students with active support and help from the Craft Teachers and other staff members.
Some of the other highlights of the function included the presentation to the outgoing Class-12 students which was done by Mrs. Nisheli Edwards, Co-Administrator and Mr. Andrew Ahoto, Chairman. Speeches on behalf of the outgoing students were presented by Mr. Anguvi A. Kiba of Class-12(Sc.) and Mr. Luojitho Ngouri of Class-12(Arts). Earlier, a special speech entitled ‘Adieu Seniors’ was presented on behalf of Class-11 students by Miss Zeba Rahman of Class-11 Arts. The other special highlights of the function included Fusion Dance by Ms. Shenam Konyak of Cl-11 Arts, Never Alone by Ms. Merangnaro and Ms. Sarah of Class-12 and a very special number by the Stonites Band titled ‘Biding Adieu’. Mrs. Aggya Thapa spoke on behalf of the teachers while the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs. Sentila Ao. The programme came to a close with the benediction prayer which was said by Miss Mhasivinuo, Chaplain of the school, followed by a special lunch at the Main Dining Hall for both the students and the teachers.
