In his brief address, Mr. Arthur Edwards encouraged the students to inculcate the motto of the school ‘Learn to Serve’ in their daily lives thereby serving humanity and God. He also underlined the necessity of learning responsibility and discipline at a young age to be better citizens. According to him real discipline comes from within and it is learnt at home at an early age. Therefore to be truly disciplined one must discipline one’s mind.
The Fresher’s Day Message was delivered by Mr. Andrew Ahoto, Chairman cum Principal of the school. In his heartening message, Mr. Ahoto while welcoming the freshers hoped that they would respect their seniors and learn the tenets of good understanding and fellow feeling as Stonites. He encouraged them to always have positivity of mind as everyone was God gifted and talented in their own fields. Comparing with the rest of the world, he highlighted that Nagaland along with some other parts of India is still reeling under backwardness and corruption. But he was optimistic about the hospitality of the Nagas which makes them apart from the rest of the country. He also underscored the importance of setting one’s goals and for which one has to work really hard in order to achieve the goals. He was critical of soothsayers and naysayers who are very conniving and they may ruin one’s life.
