International Language Day
LFI celebrated the International English Language day on the 23rd of April, 2021 which was established by the United nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2010 to celebrate English language and multilingualism. It also signifies the birth and dead of the great playwright, writer, and poet William Shakespeare who happens to have been one of those rare people who were born and died on the same date. This celebration also signifies the importance of English Language, which is one among the six-official languages of the UN as well as the most widely spoken language internationally with over 983 million speakers.
In commemoration of the celebratory day, LFI held a writing competition for Grade IX and X and Essay competition for Grade XII. Miss Mutsulu of Grade XII B spoke briefly on the significance of the day in the School’s morning assembly. The students also learned the significance of English language and participated wholeheartedly in the event.
