CULTURAL & ETHNIC WEAR DISPLAY COMPETITION 2017
As part of the British Council International School Awards (ISA) Programme Curriculum Activity, Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School conducted a Cultural & Ethnic Wear Display Competition under the theme ‘Our Culture Our Pride’ where students of Grade-IV and V participated. The event which was held at the School Auditorium started at 12:30 PM with Mr. Vernon Fernandez, Asst. Coordinator as the MC. The invocation prayer was said by Mr. Uto Chishi, Drama Teacher while the Welcome Address was delivered by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director Junior High.
The Cultural & Ethnic Wear Display Competition was judged by a panel of judges which included Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director Junior High, Ms. Abigail Thapa, Coordinator, Nursery and Prep. and Mr. Zakir Hussain, Hostel Supdt. cum Coordinator. All together 22 pairs participated in the event where they show cased the ethnic wears of different North Eastern Tribes as well as attires of various other communities including Nepalese, Bengali and Marwari communities. The following students came out as winners of the competition –
1. First Position – Miss Lialo A. Swu and Miss Tovikali with 105 points.
2. Second Position – Miss Ilovili J. Achumi and Master Aaron Akivito Yepthomi with 101 points.
3. Third Position – Miss Lituna Chophy and Master Jared A. Awomi with 100 points.
After the competition the judges and the ISA Coordinator were presented with tokens of gratitude by the Director Junior High, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi. The programme was made even more solemn by the presentation of two special numbers by Miss Adora & Friends and by Miss Likipu & Friends.
It is worth mentioning that the entire event was undertaken under the leadership and initiative of Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director of Junior High with active cooperation from the entire teaching faculty of the Junior High of LFHSS. Though the Chairman of the school, Mr. Andrew Ahoto could not make himself available for the event due to his busy schedule, he gave his blessings for the event. The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Sanjeev Momin, ISA Coordinator and followed by group photograph session with the participants.
