OBSERVANCE OF WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY 2018

Along with the rest of the world the Junior High Section of Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School observed the World Press Freedom Day on 3rd May 2018 during the school hours. All the students from Grades-I to VIII participated in the observance wherein two separate activities were conducted for the students.

The students of Junior High were divided in to two different Groups. The first group of students was from Grades-I to V while the second group was from Grades-VI to VIII. The first group of students was made to cut out newspaper clippings and categorize the clippings into current affairs, sports, notices, entertainments, infotainments, advertisements, obituaries, etc which were later put up for display.

The second group of students from Grades-VI to VIII was made to put up TV shows based on debates on burning topics including ‘Child Abuse’ and ‘Violence against women in India’. Various props such as still cameras, lights, TV/video cameras, etc. were made to give an authentic look to the interviews and TV shows. On the topics prepared the students debated for the motion as well as against the motion inside the classrooms. Judging was done based on their performance by Mr. Uto Chishi, Mr. Vernon Fernandez and Mrs. Abigail Thapa.
