OBSERVANCE OF CONSTITUTION DAY 2024
The students and mentors of Livingstone Foundation International observed the 75th Indian Constitution Day with a special assembly on the 26th of November 2024. The event, led by the Legal Club under the guidance of their mentor, Mr. Talikaba Longkumer, aimed at creating awareness about the significance of the Indian Constitution and its guiding principles among the students.
The assembly began with an introduction by the Academic Dean, Mr. Pauly Varghese, who provided an insightful overview of Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, commemorating the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26th November 1949. He emphasized the importance of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity as the core values enshrined in the Constitution, which continue to shape the nation’s democratic framework.
Miss Suangrai Newmai of Grade-XII Arts, spoke on the significance of the day. She shared insights into the origin of the Constitution, highlighting how it was drafted under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and adopted after extensive deliberations by the Constituent Assembly. She also underscored how India’s Constitution, one of the most comprehensive and robust in the world, ensures the protection of citizens’ rights and serves as a guiding light for the nation.
The event concluded with all mentors and students taking an oath of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, reaffirming their commitment to uphold its values and principles. This thoughtful and engaging assembly reinforced the importance of the Constitution in strengthening unity, justice, and progress in the country.
