30th School Foundation Day 2018
The Management, Staff, Students and Parents of Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School celebrated its 30th Foundation Day on 15th October 2018 with a colourful function which was organized at the Basketball Court of the New Main School Building. The programme which began at 11:00 AM was led by Mr. Vernon Fernandez as the MC. The Foundation Day of LFHSS also coincided with the Birthday of its Chairman, Dr. Andrew Ahoto.
It was a soulful moment when the Chairman unfurled the School Flag followed by the School Anthem which was sung by the gathering with deep emotion and in unison of the Stonites spirit. Soon after this Mrs. Nisheli Edwards, the Co-Administrator of the school said the Invocation Prayer to mark the beginning of an hour long programme filled with music, colour and entertainment. The students from Grades-IV, V & VI sang an enchanting number entitled ‘Find us Faithful’ followed by two short poems on Foundation Day by Miss Imlijungla of Grade-V and Miss Chokjenchila Jamir of Grade-IX. Mr. Tovi of Grade-XI enraptured the gathering with his melodious number ‘Because you love me’ which he dedicated to the school. This was followed by two dance items by Grades-II & III and by Grades-VII, VIII, IX & X.
In his words of encouragement the Chairman, Dr. Andrew Ahoto gave a brief history of the school and how it has continued to develop over the years in providing 30 glorious years of quality service and education to the community. He also exhorted the mentors not to be stagnant but move forward in life. He was of the opinion that there is much glory is giving than in receiving. He also apprised the parents of the many developments that are taking place in the school for the betterment of the students and he sought their support and encouragement at all times.
After his words of encouragement, the Stonite heads and mentors led by the Director, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi gave a warm felicitation to the Chairman on the occasion of his Birthday. A beautiful cake was also cut during the event and the gathering also sang the Happy Birthday number. The Staff members also presented the Chairman with a gift and a card.
This was followed by an array of entertaining items by the students which included ‘One in Love’ by students of Grades-XI & XII, ‘Head above Water’ by Miss Era Ayemi of Grade-IX, ‘You are the reason’ which was a beautiful number by Miss Adora and Miss Penyu of Grade-VII. An item which stole the show however was the Recycle Fashion Show by tiny tots from Prep-I, Prep-II and Grade-I who walked the ramp dressed in recyclable materials like plastic, newspaper, CDs, etc. A small skit entitled ‘Ultimate Fight Championship’ by members of the Drama Club tickled the crowd to laughter and giggles. The mentors were not left behind as they also participated in a group song entitled ‘We are the world’ much to the joy and admiration of the Management as well as the students and parents. The programme came to a solemn close with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Principal of Academics, Mr. Prabhat Mandal after which light refreshment was provided to the gathering.
