Cambridge Orientation and Introduction at LFHSS
Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School has been officially approved by Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International) to offer its world-leading Cambridge Pathway curriculum to students aged 5 to 19. The decision means that Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School is the first school in Dimapur Nagaland to offer Cambridge International programmes and qualifications which is not only a pride for the state of Nagaland but also for the entire North Eastern region.
The inauguration of Cambridge International at LFHSS was done on 14th March 2019 in a formal programme attended by Regional Director, South Asia, Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International), Mrs. Ruchira Ghosh and Mr. Satyajit Sarkar, Manager- East India, Bangladesh and Nepal. Mrs. Ruchira Ghosh said that Cambridge International was pleased to be associated with a progressive institution like the Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School. She stated that together Cambridge International and LFHSS share a common vision of helping students become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged, so that they are ready to thrive in our ever-changing world. The school will be offering the Cambridge Pathway from age 5 to 19 which helps give students a love of learning that will stay with them through school, university and beyond. She expressed a positive hope to work closely with the school to give their teachers and students all the support they need to succeed with Cambridge programmes. She, along with Mr. Satyajit Sarkar, also oriented the mentors and other staff members to the new Cambridge International system of education.
Dr Andrew Ahoto, Chairman, Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School mentioned that it was a matter of great pride for LFHSS to be associated with Cambridge International. He said that LFHSS was committed to building a happy school and helping every child dream big and excel holistically. He also expressed that Cambridge International’s unique approach allows students to take charge of their learning and supports all learners to fulfill their potential. He also opined that this collaboration will help the school prepare children to identify their interests early on and develop them into their passion, inspiring them to ‘Dare to Dream and Learn to Excel’ and orient them to be lifelong learners. According to him, the Cambridge International is the most widely recognized school assessment board in the world and the curriculum is so well knit into the global as well as the Indian system that students find it much easier to cope up with subjects and curriculum of other boards including CBSE and ICSE and also they get easy accessibility to most of the renowned Universities around the world which recognizes Cambridge International Qualifications.
The Cambridge Curriculum will be initially started for Grade-VIII and below for developing the concept based approach and active learning which is a unique and one of the strongest attributes of Cambridge International and blends very well with both national as well as international education systems. This will ensure that a strong foundation based on an International Pedagogy will help the students’ learning aptitude and help them in identifying with the international community. After Grade-VIII, the school will run parallel curriculums of both CBSE and Cambridge International from Grade-IX and above in two separate campuses for the benefit of the varied preferences of the students.
