NCC WEST BENGAL & SIKKIM TREKKING CAMP 2023
NCC Cadets from Livingstone Foundation International had an exciting and adventurous opportunity of attending a trekking camp at West Bengal and Sikkim from 20th to 27th November 2023. Cadets Jemima Yeptho, Lilika Chishi and Vicly Aye were among 250 cadets from 11 states including from the North Eastern Region that undertook the memorable trekking.
During the camp, the NCC cadets engaged in a variety of thrilling activities, including trekking through picturesque trails, exploring breathtaking landscapes, and immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the region. The camp fostered teamwork, leadership skills, and personal growth among the participants.
On the very first day of the camp, the cadets had the opportunity to visit the stunning Rangeet River in Namchi. It was a refreshing and rejuvenating experience that set the tone for the rest of the camp. The cadets embarked on a journey through stunning landscapes, crossing rivers, and conquering challenging terrains. The beauty of nature surrounding Chardham was awe-inspiring, making the trek an unforgettable adventure. They also visited Bhaichung Bhutia Stadium on their way to Char Dham. It’s a renowned sports venue and a pride of Namchi. The stadium also holds great historical significance.
Another key highlight of the NCC camp was the cultural night. It was a vibrant and lively event where participants showcased their diverse cultures through performances and activities. From traditional dances to music, each performance was a celebration of unity in diversity. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about different traditions and appreciate the richness of India’s cultural heritage.
The West Bengal and Sikkim Trekking Camp provided a unique and enriching experience. From the exhilarating trekking adventure to the vibrant cultural night, it was a combination of nature, exploration, and cultural exchange. This camp not only fostered a sense of camaraderie among the cadets but also instilled a deeper appreciation for the beauty of our country and its diverse culture. It not only offered thrilling adventures and breathtaking scenery but also promoted personal growth, teamwork, and cultural understanding.
