Reopening of School after Covid-19 Lockdown

After a gap of nearly 7 months after the school had to close down due to the unfortunate outbreak of the global pandemic, Covid-19, Livingstone Foundation International reopened in a phased manner with the students of Grades-VIII to XII attending their first day of school in the new session on 6th November 2020.
Since the students and mentors had become accustomed to the new normal of online classes, there was a general excitement in the air as the students started pouring in amidst the Covid-19 protocols in place such as wearing of masks, using hand sanitizers, etc.
The day began with a special assembly led by Mr. Vernon Fernandez, Coordinator of Junior High as the compere. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Arthur Edwards, father figure of the school which was followed by a special prayer by Rev. Tovishe Achumi, Director, Mission & Evangelism, WSBAK, Pastor (Thahekhu Village Baptist church) .
In her words of encouragement, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director LFI called upon the students to emulate the value of integrity in every step of their lives as it is an essence that would set them apart from others and make them take ownership of everything in their lives.
Mr. Pauly Varghese, Discipline In-charge, announced some information and also gave few tips of precautionary measures to be followed to keep everyone safe from the COVID-19 disease. The assembly programme came to a solemn close with the school anthem led by Mr. Norbert Achung.
After the assembly, students were led to their respective classes by their Grade Mentors for the commencement of the classes.
It is worthwhile to mention that the students have been segregated into two groups for each section who will be attending on alternate days so that the social distancing norms can be followed and also to maintain a lesser crowd during the school hours.
