LFI LITERARY FEST 2023

The much anticipated LFI Literary Fest 2023 was conducted on the 15th and 16th September 2023 with much enthusiasm and active participation from the students and the mentors. The two-day event was conducted at the LFI auditorium and was mainly aimed at promoting the art and literary excellence of the students.

The first day of the fest featured the four houses – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John competing in various literary and art competitions. The event kicked off with the Debate Competition on the topic,’21 years of age should be the legal age for driving.’ Simultaneously, a poetry composition competition was also conducted allowing students to express their creativity through the medium of verse. Following the debate and poetry composition competitions, students from the junior, senior, and super senior levels participated in extempore speech contests. A thrilling declamation competition was also conducted post-lunch wherein students from all four houses delivered speeches on various topics, highlighting their research and public speaking skills.

The day concluded on a harmonious note as all four houses presented melodious group songs. It was evident that the students had put in tremendous time and effort to deliver outstanding performances. Their dedication and commitment were truly commendable. As the final chords of the songs filled the auditorium, an air of satisfaction and accomplishment enveloped the venue.

The second day of the LFI Literary Fest was filled with intellectual stimulation, creativity, and camaraderie.  It began with an intriguing and nail-biting Quiz Competition where all houses demonstrated their impressive general knowledge. The questions spanned a wide range of topics, challenging the students’ knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork. Alongside this, there was an essay writing competition with three groups participating in it on three different topics viz., “Why is breakfast the most important meal of the day?” for Juniors; “Do video games cause behavior problems?” for Seniors and “Should alcohol be made legal in Nagaland?” for the Super Seniors. This was followed by solo performances, romantic duets, and band performances from all the houses where they displayed exceptional musical talent, leaving the audience in awe with their skillful compositions and impressive stage presence.

Towards the end of the competition, Matthew House was declared as the overall champion with a total point of 3580 while John House came at second place with 3177 points. Mark House and Luke House trailed behind with 2667 and 2570 points respectively.
