FOOTBAL CAMP & EXHIBITION MATCH 2023
Stonites belonging to Grades-X, XI and XII had a wonderful experience during a 2-days free Football Camp and Exhibition Match which was held at Dimapur Government College on the 29th and 30th of August 2023.
The football camp and exhibition match was conducted by the Deputy Commissioner and the District Election Office in collaboration with the Nagaland Sports Association in order to promote voter awareness and registration among the youth through youth-oriented events and special drives under the state Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative towards new voter registration and outreach initiatives through the medium of sports. The camp was also graced by the State SVEEP Icon, Shri Keneingulie Pienyu who is also a prominent football player.
The first day of the camp witnessed a host of coaches from the Nagaland Sports Association conducting coaching classes on football for the students from various institutions of Dimapur. During the session some of the best players were selected from amongst the students after which on the second day an exhibition match was played between two teams, viz. Deputy Commissioner 11 and District Election Officer 11. As part of the SVEEP drive, election voters ID Cards were also issued to students who were above the age of 18 years and who did not possess the same.
