LAUNCHING OF HELPING HANDS NAGALAND AT LFI 2022

The Nagaland Chapter of the humanitarian organization, Helping Hands was formally chartered during the launching programme which was held at Livingstone Foundation International on 23rd October 2022. Speaking after launching the Helping Hands Nagaland, its founder and National President, Shri Robin Hibu IPS, Special Commissioner & ADGP, Delhi Police, highlighted about the humble beginning of Helping Hands in 2016. According to him Helping Hands was a charitable non-profit, non-governmental organization which functions for the sole purpose of humanitarian goals and services for the people especially the downtrodden and the needy people from the North Eastern states. He stated that many good Samaritans are its core members which include IAS, IPS, IRS, IFOS officers, lawyers, entrepreneurs, educationists, doctors, journalists and others. The operational framework consists of 21 core members including engagement layers consisting of volunteers, counsellors, legal team and NGOs.

Earlier, during his welcome address, Dr. Andrew Ahoto, President, Helping Hands Nagaland and Chairman, Livingstone Foundation International stated that time had come for people to be more givers than takers and to discard selfish and greedy inhibitions. He encouraged the gathering of imminent people from different organizations to stay connected, be active and work in peace and harmony for humanity. According to him, setting up of a Helping Hands centre at Dimapur, Nagaland will better help mobilise resources and coordination during emergencies and times of need. He emphasised that Helping Hands is a sacrifice as its members are committed towards doing something good for the society. During the programme, Shri Robin Hibu and his wife, Dr. Gampi Padu Hibu were felicitated by Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema and Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director LFI. Some of the upcoming and young sports personalities and a craftsman were also honoured and felicitated during the programme. The programme was led by the MC, Mr. Vernon Fernandez of LFI. The invocation prayer was pronounced by Rev. Dr. Joshua Barela, Vice Chairman, Christian Academy International while the dedication of Helping Hands Nagaland was done by Rev. Fr. Dr. Joe Mariadhas, Director, Shalom Rehabilitation Centre who also said a special prayer during the occasion. Special numbers were also presented during the solemn occasion by Mr. Gideon Sangma, mentor of LFI and by Mr. N.K. Naga, popular playback singer from Nagaland.
