GROWING PLANTS CAMPAIGN 2022
On the eve of the World Environment Day 2022 on 4th June 2022, the students and mentors of Livingstone Foundation International took part in the global ‘Growing Plants Campaign’ which was conducted at the Dimapur State Stadium under the theme of ‘Only one Earth’. The programme was organized by Act of Kindness in collaboration with PHED, Nagaland. Ms. Bano Haralu, Social Activist & Member, Governing Board of the North East Network/Consultant, Wildlife Conservation Society, graced the occasion as the Special Guest. Various schools, colleges and institutions in and around Dimapur were a part of this campaign.
The programme was hosted by Mercy Loreni Murry, Associate Member, Act of Kindness Society. During her keynote address, Mrs. Imojungla Longkumer, District Co-ordinator DWSM, PHED, Dimapur, highlighted the importance of adopting 3 R’s lifestyle i.e. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
In her speech, the Special Guest Ms. Bano Haralu emphasised on the changes that we are going to make wherever we are and which is going to have an impact in the world. She also challenged the people to revise and review our state, on how much we know about our rich flora and fauna; how we are contributing to World Environment Day. She concluded by remarking that we are all interlinked with nature.
The programme came to a solemn close with the distribution of tree saplings to stakeholders, group photography and light refreshment. The students brought back the tree saplings and planted them in the school campus.
