LFI CONDUCTS STUDY CUM EXPOSURE TOUR TO GUWAHATI

Livingstone Foundation International conducted a Study cum Exposure Tour to Guwahati for its Grade-XII Sc students on 9th to 11th of March 2022. The three-day tour was a rare opportunity for the students to explore the city of Guwahati and educate themselves through visits to various places of interest like museum, planetarium and religious places.

The students along with three mentors set off for the tour from the LFI hostel block on 9th March 2022 after a short prayer by the Chaplain, Ms. Medozhanou Tepa. The main leg of the tour commenced on 10th of March 2022 with a visit of the Saraighat Bridge which is one of the oldest rail cum road bridge over the mighty river Brahmaputra. The Stonites also got an opportunity of visiting the Gauhati University Campus where they took a tour of the Chemistry, Mathematics and Botany Departments. Next, they visited some other places of interests like Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi, Balaji Temple, Srimanta  Sankardeva Kalakshetra and Science Centre.

On the 2nd leg of their tour on 11th of March 2022, the Stonites team took an exciting ferry ride to the smallest river island, the Umananda which lies in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. There they visited the world famous Umananda Temple. They also visited the Guwahati Planetarium which is a centre for astronomical education and research. There, the students got the opportunity of learning about the solar system with the help of HD Video Projector. The tour concluded with a movie ‘The Batman’ at PVR Central Mall.

Overall, the tour was a very productive and adventurous one filled with excitement and fun. The students got the experience of travelling in city buses and electric rickshaws while travelling within the city. The students were accompanied by their Grade Mentor, Mr. Nabi Hassan and two other mentors.
