Women Forum 2026 | North East India Region of YMCAs

The Women Forum 2026 of the North East India Region of YMCAs was held from 8th to 10th October 2026 at Bishop House, Loom Bihsyntu, Jowai, hosted by Jowai City YMCA, under the theme “Empowered to Lead, Inspired to Serve.”

The forum brought together delegates from Dimapur, Nongtalang, Jowai, Shangpung, and Shillong YMCAs. Representing Dimapur, Ms. Zhimoholi S. Zhimomi, Chaplain and Counsellor at Livingstone Foundation International and Secretary of the Women’s Forum, NE Region YMCA, along with Ms. H. Margareth Snock, Assistant Warden at LFI, attended the conference.

The three-day event commenced with an inaugural function, followed by a vibrant cultural programme celebrating fellowship and togetherness.

The second day featured five enriching sessions focusing on health and well-being, women’s empowerment, social work, leadership, and environmental sustainability. The discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, drawing strength from faith, promoting education and financial independence, and encouraging women to take active roles in leadership and community service.

A key message from the sessions was that “You don’t need a title to lead,” inspiring participants to embrace leadership through action and service. The discussions also emphasised sustainable practices, waste segregation, and the value of responsible waste management.

The day concluded with a business session and action planning, followed by feedback, interactive games, and fellowship.

The forum provided a valuable platform for learning, sharing experiences, and strengthening connections among women across the region, inspiring them to lead with confidence, serve with purpose, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Empowered to Lead, Inspired to Serve.
