As part of their English Summer Assignment, the students of Grades VI, VII and VIII embarked on a literary journey by reading books of their choice and writing book reviews. Taking their learning beyond the written word, the students brought their favourite characters to life during Book Character Day, held on 24th August 2026.
The school auditorium came alive with stories and imagination as students dressed as characters from their favourite books. Each participant confidently introduced their chosen character, spoke about their personality and role, and shared why the character had made an impression on them.
Through their creative presentations, the students demonstrated their understanding of the books they had read and the characters they had connected with. Their enthusiasm, creativity and confidence made the celebration a vibrant and engaging literary experience. From classic tales to contemporary works, a wonderful range of literary characters was brought to life.
The activity encouraged students to move beyond simply reading and reviewing books by stepping into the shoes of their chosen characters. It provided a creative platform to strengthen their confidence, communication and understanding of literature, while making the joy of reading come alive.
