The recent story reading session, spearheaded by the American Center, Kolkata, showcased a unique initiative where their Director, Elizabeth Lee, engaged young audiences with a virtual story reading session on May 17, 2024
Our school enthusiastically participated in this event, joining the virtual meet via Zoom. Tailored for children aged 6-9, the session featured a delightful reading from the book “Fox in Socks.” Additionally, we enriched the experience by sending videos of our enthusiastic children who accepted and recited tongue twisters from the book as part of the tongue twister challenge.
A total of 15 students participated in the virtual meet, with 3 students bravely taking on the tongue twister challenge.
This collaborative effort aimed to introduce young students to American literature and promote virtual outreach to students in the Northeast region. Through engaging readings, interactive discussions, and the playful tongue twister challenge, we sought to ignite curiosity and appreciation for the diverse voices and stories that shape American culture.
