The dedication and resilience of the custodians, security staff, housekeeping staff, the drivers and other workers of LFI was honoured with the observance of the International Workers’ Day at the school campus on 1st of May 2024. The brief but solemn programme was conducted during the school morning assembly and was organized by the IAYP team of LFI led by Ms. Alivi Yepthomi, Mrs. Pratikshya Basnet and Ms. Kajenkala T. Longchar.
The day began with a short prayer by Ms. Zhimoholi S. Zhimomi, Chaplain of LFI which was followed by the Significance of the Day delivered by Mr. Pauly Varghese, Academic Dean. A special number by Ms. Imnanaro of Grade-XB and Mr. Shubham of Grade-XA added a rich fervour to the occasion.
The workers including didis, dajus, drivers, security guards and others were later felicitated with gifts as a token of gratitude towards their sense of dedication and sacrifice in making the lives of everyone better day in and day out. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Erano of Grade-XA.
The International Workers’ Day or International Labours’ Day is dedicated to honouring the contributions of working people in every industry and sector. It’s not just about celebrating their hard work, but also empowering them to be aware of their rights.
