CBSE SENSITIZATION PROGRAM ON FINANCIAL LITERACY

A one-day Sensitization cum Training Program on Financial Literacy and Use of Digital Tools was conducted at Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur on 7th February 2024. The programme was attended by around 90 teachers and non-teaching staff members from several CBSE affiliated schools of Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Niuland including Livingstone Foundation International, Hope Academy and JNV Nihokhu. The daylong session was led by CA Santosh Jain, who is currently a renowned chartered accountant based in Dimapur.

The sensitization cum training program was conducted by CBSE in collaboration with Jeevitam and was mainly conducted to sensitize teachers and staff members on the basics of Financial Literacy and Use of Digital Platforms and Tools that are relevant in the current scenario.  During the session, the resource person focused on some key aspects of day to day financial planning and transactions, insurance, investments, banking and also how to avoid falling prey to phishing and cyber frauds or online scams.

The initiative is part of activities related to Investor Education and Awareness Initiative in terms of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996 which has been undertaken by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) by conducting Financial Literacy Training sessions for CBSE affiliated schools throughout India.
