BOOK LAUNCH EVENT OF IMLIJUNGLA AIER
A collection of poems in book form entitled ‘The Play’ authored by Grade-X student of LFI, Miss Imlijungla Aier was launched at a colourful function which was held at the auditorium of Livingstone Foundation International on the 15th of January 2024.
‘The Play’, released under Imlijungla’s pseudonym ‘Alina Aier’, has been printed and published by Penthrill Publication House, Kohima and contains some heart touching and thought provoking poems which mostly reflect the maladies of the modern world and the emotions that a young girl experiences amidst those maladies. Apart from poems, the writer also loves writing short stories and it is her ardent belief that poems and stories are an approach to keeping humanity alive.
The book launch event was graced by Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, Chairman of LFI as the Guest Speaker who also released the inaugural edition of ‘The Play’. It was also attended among others by the Director LFI, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, the author’s parents and family members, the Grade-X students and their parents and guardians, mentors, staff members, media fraternity and well-wishers.
Congratulating Miss Imlijungla for her maiden book during the launch event, the Chairman of LFI thanked everyone for encouraging and supporting her for her endeavours and efforts in bringing laurels not only for her family but also for the institution and the society at large and expressed hope that she would continue to shine and become a renowned writer in the future. He also encouraged the other students to bring out and express their latent skills and talents and assured that LFI would always continue to promote and support talented students for furthering their career.
During her introduction, the author of the book, Miss Imlijungla credited Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director LFI for being her constant support and motivator who, according to her, played an elemental role in her journey as an author and attributed her as the initiator of her maiden project.
The brief programme was led by Mr. Vernon Fernandez as the MC and began with an invocation prayer by Mr. Imtiakum, Pastor of Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA). The author was introduced to the audience by her sister and Assistant Professor of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, Dr. Arenla T. Ao, who is also an alumnus of LFI. On behalf of Penthrill Publications, the publisher’s note was delivered by renowned writer, Ms. Vishü Rita Krocha. While affirming confidence that Imlijungla would continue to pen her beautiful thoughts, she sought support for the literary community of Nagaland. A beautiful number was also presented on the occasion by Mr. Gideon Sangma and Mr. Kupuvi. The programme concluded with the cake cutting by Miss Imlijungla and light refreshment for all.
