OBSERVANCE OF WORLD RED CROSS 2023 AT LFI
Along with the rest of the international community, Livingstone Foundation International also observed the World Red Cross Day 2023 at its school premises on the 8th of May 2023. The day was observed with a brief programme which was conducted by the Mark House during the Morning Assembly, the theme being ‘To highlight the universal, human and diverse aspects of the Red Cross Movement.’
The programme which began at 8:30 AM was marked by a special speech on the significance of the day by Miss Erano Ezung of Grade-IXA. In her speech she highlighted the main reason for celebrating this day which was to commemorate the principles of the Red Cross Society and the Red Cross Movement. She also stated that this day was established as an international event in order to honour Sir Henry Dunant, who was the founder of the International Red Cross Committee. According to her, the Red Cross Society helps the people ravaged by wars, fires, earthquakes and such other calamities. She also called upon the students and mentors to celebrate this day to encourage one another to be kind and empathetic towards everyone.
Later, the students and mentors of Grades-IX to XII attended a special programme organized by the Dimapur Branch of the International Red Cross Society at the LFI Auditorium which began at around 12:00 PM.
