WORKSHOP ON WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE BY SULABH INTERNATIONAL

A one-day workshop of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) was conducted at Livingstone Foundation International on 11th May 2022 by Sulabh International which is a Delhi based Social Service Organization. The workshop was led by Mr. Rupak Roy Choudhury, Chief Coordinator on WaSH in Schools Program at Sulabh International.

During the workshop which was mainly conducted for the Grade-VIII and IX students, Mr. Rupak elaborated about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and how students can bring about a transformation at school, home and in the community which in turn would change the state and the country.

He highlighted about the All India Competition on cleanliness and how the winning schools from every state would be invited to Delhi for the final selection. He also encouraged the students to develop different mechanical tools as well as ideas which could become a method to be used for cleanliness. He encouraged the students to minimize the use of plastics including mineral water bottles, single use polythene bags, etc.

Towards the end of the workshop, a Sanitation Club was formed with its first batch of 25 students. Ms. Ayushi, Ms. Pari Bucha, Ms. Limeka, Ms. Komal and Mr. Karma were elected as the Group Leaders of the Sanitation Club. He also informed that one student submitting the best project would be selected and sent to Vietnam and Dubai for which all expenses would be borne by Sulabh International. The tour to Vietnam and Dubai will be held in the month of October to further enhance their knowledge on how to develop different projects and ideas on sanitation and hygiene.
