STONITES MAKE IT BIG AT ALRIS FEST 2022, NIT CHUMUKEDIMA

The Stonites Team comprising of 21 students stole the show at the ALRIS Fest 2022 which was held at NIT Chumukedima on the occasion of National Science Day on 28th February 2022. It was a remarkable science and innovation fair for and by the students which included a host of activities and competitions including Debate, Quiz, Essay, Poster and Science Exhibition. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. K. Sivan Vikram Sarabhai, distinguished professor and former Director of ISRO while the Guest of Honour was Prof. Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University Guwahati, Assam.

It was an exhilarating experience for the Stonites as they swept almost all the prizes of various competitions. In the Debate – Group A, Mr. Gavin Sangma of Grade-XI Sc won the 1st Prize while the 2nd Prize was clinched by Miss Cynthia Alemla Warlarpih of Grade-XI Sc. In Quiz – Group A, LFI Team, comprising of Master Mrinmoy Dey of Grade-V and Master  Zabdel Jamir of Grade-VI, won the 2nd Prize. In Poster Making Competition, Group A, the 1st Prize was bagged by Master Ayush Gupta of Grade-V while in Group B, Ms. Ayushi Bhowal of Grade-VIII and Ms. Limeka of Grade-VIII won the 1st and the 2nd Prizes respectively.

In the Group C of the same competition, Ms. Rishita Deka of Grade-XII Sc won the 2nd Prize. The LFI team participating the Science Exhibition made everyone proud by winning the 2nd Prize. The team included Ms.  Ilo N. Chophy, Ms. Parinaya Prem Sharma, Ms. Pritvika Jaishi and Ms. Rila Sangtam, all from Grade-XI Sc. Last but not the least, in the Junior Category of Essay Competition, Master Adarsh Singh of Grade-VI won the 3rd Prize.

Overall the event was marked by fun-filled experience for the students where they enjoyed as well as learned much about modern science and technology. Miss Renemmenla of Grade-XII Sc even got a privilege to virtually interact with the Chief Guest, Dr. K. Sivan Vikram Sarabhai, where he spoke about integrated approach in science and technology for sustainable future.
