71st Constitution Day 2020 Observed at LFI
Along with the rest of the country and as per the directive of the District Education Officer, Livingstone Foundation International observed the 71st Constitution Day on 26th November 2020 with a brief programme that was conducted by the Political Science Department during the Morning Assembly at the LFI School Campus from 9:10 AM onwards.
During the course of the programme, a short briefing about the Constitution Day was presented by the MC, Mr. Vernon Fernandez. The significance of the day was highlighted by Ms. Esther Somungla Jamang of Grade-XII Commerce. The Preamble of the Indian Constitution was read out by Mr. Pauly Varghese while the National Anthem was sung by the NCC Cadets led by ANO Shiva Baidya. The programme ended with the School Anthem led by Mrs. Aggya Thapa. During the occasion, several posters highlighting ideals of the Indian Constitution and portrayals of some of the makers of the Constitution were put up for display.
Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas is celebrated in India on November 26 every year to promote Constitution values among citizens. On this day, back in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on January 26, 1950.
