Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) Inaugurated at Livingstone Foundation International

ATAL TINKERING LAB (ATL) INAUGURATED AT LIVINGSTONE FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL
The Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) of Livingstone Foundation International was formally inaugurated on 25th November 2020 by Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, Chairman, LFI who graced the programme as the Chief Guest.
The programme, which was led by Mr. Vernon Fernandez as the MC, began at around 1:00 PM with the invocation prayer by Ms. Medozhano Tepa, Chaplain.
This was followed by a short speech by the Chief Guest followed by the felicitation of Chief Guest and Guest Trainer by Director LFI, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi.
The programme came to a solemn close with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Abinash Konwar and subsequent ribbon cutting by Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema. Prior to the inauguration there was a training of students and mentors on the functioning and setting up of the ATL by Guest Trainer from KnowHow 3D, Mr. Inaz Sultan Haque on 23rd & 24th of November followed by a session in the morning of 25th November also.
ATL is an approach of Central government of India to create an environment of scientific temperament, innovation, creativity amongst students.
It is a step towards a new India. ATL lab would teach students essential 21st-century skills which will help them in developing their professional and personal skills. It is an important part of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of the NITI Aayog.
It is a workspace where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands-on do-it-yourself mode and learn innovation skills. The vision is to cultivate 1 Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators.
The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand what, how and why aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
ATL at Livingstone Foundation International is well equipped with educational and DIY kits and equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers.
