5th International Day Of Yoga 2019

The 5th International Day of Yoga 2019 was observed at Livingstone Foundation International on 21st June 2019. The event was organized by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in collaboration with Livingstone Foundation International (LFI). All together 1053 participants including NCC Cadets from various schools and colleges or Dimapur participated in the Yoga Day celebration. This year the event was marked by various Inter-School and College Competitions.
The Yoga Day programme began started at 7:00 AM with an invocation prayer said by Mr. Prabhat Mandal, Academic Head of Livingstone Foundation International followed by a short speech by Programme Officer of NEZCC, Mr. Oliver Temsu who expressed his gratitude to the Management, Staff and students of Livingstone Foundation International for always cooperating with NEZCC in organizing the International Day of Yoga every year. He also thanked the participants from various schools and colleges for sparing time and taking part in the Yoga Day event. Mr. D. Vashum, Deputy Director (Admin) of NEZCC was also present on the occasion along with his other officials.
This year, the Yoga session was led by Mr. Uto Chishi, a Drama Mentor from Livingstone Foundation International who imparted various Yoga Steps (Yog Asanas) including the Surya Namaskar.
The results of the various competitions held as part of the 5th International Day of Yoga are as follows:

  1. School Level Slogan Writing Competition on the theme ‘Festival of Yoga and Well-being’-

1st Prize – Mr. Ravi Jitani, Grade-XII, Livingstone Foundation International
2nd Prize – Mr. Arjun Chetri, Grade-VIII, Greenwood Hr. Sec. School

  1. College Level Article Writing Competition on the topic ‘Yoga and its Health Benefits’ –

1st Prize – Miss Temjenienla Imsong, B.A. 5th Semester, Dimapur Govt. College
2nd Prize – Miss Eden Shikhu, B.A. 5th Semester, Dimapur Govt. College

  1. School Level Poster Making Competition on the topic ‘Festival of Yoga and Well-being’ –

1st Prize – Miss Tsuzolu Rhakho, Grade-IX, Livingstone Foundation International
2nd Prize – Mr. Abhrajit Dey, Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School.
