Inter-School Competition on Tackling Waste Management 2019

A total of 27 schools including Livingstone Foundation International participated in the Inter-School Competition on ‘Tackling Waste Management’ which was held at Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur on 25th May 2019. The competition which was organized by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) included Debate, Essay, Waste to Art, Painting and Power Point Presentation.
The competition was mainly conducted to highlight a positive impact on how sustainable development is important and how it can be done without harming the environment. The topic for the debate competition was ‘Is development necessary or protecting the environment.’ The primary objective for conducting the competition was to highlight how wastes can be converted into various forms of art.
The following 8 students from LFI participated in various events of the competition:

  1. Miss Tsuzolu Rakho, Gr-IX – Painting
  2. Mr. Raj Kumar, Gr-XII Sc – Power Point Presentation
  3. Miss Sentitola Longchar, Gr-XII Arts – Essay Competition
  4. Miss Anwesha Dey, Miss Sherin Khan & Miss Lomika Chishi, Gr-XII Sc – Waste to Art
  5. Miss Chokjenchila T. Jamir & Miss Rishita Deka, Gr-X – Debate.

Apart from the contestants a team of 30 students went to witness the event. The students were accompanied by 2 mentors, Mr. Abinash Konwar and Miss Narmada Jain.
