Children’s Day Celebration 2018
This year Children’s Day at Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School was celebrated in a belated manner on 15th November 2018, as a holiday was declared on 14th November. On the occasion, a special Morning Assembly Programme was conducted by the Mentors of both Senior as well as Junior High for the students at the New Main School Building (MSB).
The programme began at 9:00AM with the School Prayer, which was led by Mr. Vernon Fernandez, followed by Scripture Reading by Ms. Pricilla Murry. A Special Song entitled ‘Viva Forever’ by Spice Girls was sung on the occasion by the Lady Mentors much to the delight of the gathering which included even parents and guardians. Two poems composed by mentors were also rendered just before the special song. One of the poems entitled ‘We Love You Children’ was composed and recited by Ms. Moasenla Ozukum and the other entitled ‘Children Are A Gift From Heaven’ was composed by Ms. Gyawhule Kent and recited by Ms. Chothavelu Swuro.
This was followed by Words of Wisdom by the Chairman of LFHSS, Dr. Andrew Ahoto who maily dwelt on the significance of the day where he spoke about the innocence of childhood and how children can bring about a change in the society by contributing in simple ways.
On the occasion a Special Prayer was also said by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director LFHSS. This was followed by the presentation of awards for Summer Assignments for all Grades for the session 2018-19. An intriguing and hilarious performance in the form of a Cross-Dressing Show by the Male Mentors was also show-cased on the occasion which was met with thuderous laughter and applause from the gathering.
The brief but colourful programme came to a close with the School Song which was led by Mrs. Abigail Imchen.
Special Snack Packets were distributed to the students after the programme. The students and mentors dispersed after the programme for the rest of the day wherein many classes organized Potlucks as an epilogue to the day-long celebrations.
