Observance of World Food Day 2018

In solidarity with the rest of the world, Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School gave a new definition to charity by a noble initiative of reaching out to the underprivileged children under the able guidance of its Director, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi. The occasion was the observation of World Food Day 2018 on 16th October 2018.
Under this initiative, the students and mentors of Grades-I to III took out a venture into the slum area of Ward-16, Kevijau Village to visit Boscome School run by the Don Bosco Missionaries. The aim was to make the students learn the essence of giving and reaching out to the poor and the needy through their help and support using whatever means at their disposal. It also aimed at awakening empathy for the people around our neighbourhood and also acknowledging the importance of food in our lives.
The students contributed some snacks and food items to the underprivileged children studying at Boscome while the School Management donated stationeries to them. During the course of the visit the students had a wholesome experience and understood the importance of having a considerably better opportunity in contrast to those who studied at schools like Boscome. On a whole, the visit and interaction was an eye-opener for the young Stonites.
