STONITES INVESTITURE & OATH TAKING CEREMONY 2018
The Annual Stonites Investiture and Oath Taking Ceremony 2018 was held at the LFHSS Auditorium on 2nd June 2018. The programme which began at 10 AM was led by Mr. Vernon Fernandez as the M.C. of the programme and was attended by the Parents and Guardians of the newly elected student leaders of LFHSS among other dignitaries.
The invocation prayer was said by Mr. Prabhat Mandal, Principal (Academics) while the Welcome Address was presented on the occasion by Mr. Sanjeev Momin, British Council Coordinator. This was followed by a special number presented by the Junior High Choir entitled ‘I Have a Dream’.
The occasion was made even more solemn by the presence of Col. Vivek Shukla, Commanding Officer of 24 (Indep) Coy of NCC, Kohima who is also the Officiating CO of the No.1 Air Sqn.(NCC) Dimapur. In his brief speech he exhorted the leaders and said that real leaders do not require any appointment as they can become leaders whenever the situation arises.
The main part of the programme however was the Investiture and Oath Taking of the newly elected Student Leaders led by the Director Junior High, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi. Before the Leaders’ March, she gave a brief highlight about the Investiture Ceremony and its importance. According to her the delegation of authority was given to the students so that they could be trained to take up leadership skills and thus help them in becoming future leaders. The House Leaders were pinned their badges by Mr. Andrew Ahoto, Chairman and Mr. Prabhat Mandal, Principal (Academics) while the School Captains were honoured with the badges by the special guest, Col. Vivek Shukla. The badges of the Class Monitors were pinned by Mr. Shyamal Nag, Vice Principal (Admin) and Mr. Zakir Hussain, Coordinator.
In his words of wisdom shared by Mr. Andrew Ahoto, Chairman of LFHSS exhorted the leaders to abide by the rules and regulations and to discharge their duties to full satisfaction and to serve the student community in any given situation. He also remarked that real leaders do not think about the harvest but they relentlessly work towards perfection.
This was followed by a Fusion Dance item by the Junior High girls led by Miss Kajenkala. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Karan Ghebring. The programme came to a close with the benediction led by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director Junior High. After the programme, the parents were entertained to high tea while the teachers had a sumptuous lunch especially in celebration of the wonderful Board results.
