COMBINED ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP-V HELD AT LIVINGSTONE FOUNDATION HR. SEC. SCHOOL

The CATC-V (Combined Annual Training Camp-V) of the National Cadet Corps was held at Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School.The 10 days camp which started on the 19th of March 2015 was participated by 492 Cadets from various Schools and Colleges across Nagaland.The Camp Commandant for the CATC-V was Col. Bharadwaj(SM), CO of 24NL INDEP Coy, NCC.The major events that took place during the CATC-V were PT, Drill Competition, Games like basketball, football and volleyball. One of the most important highlights of the Camp this year was the weaponry and rifle firing competition which was conducted Company wise as well as individual wise. Theory Classes were also conducted on Drill and Weapons Training including loading, cocking, unloading a rifle as well as the different characteristics of rifle ammunition, rifle stripping, dismantling and assembling of rifle parts with lessons on proper care and cleaning of a rifle. The other highlights of the camp were a health run, unarmed combat, lecture on women empowerment, NCC Organisation, Civil Defence training and Map reading.The ANO (Associate NCC Officers) for the CATC-V included Lt. Abigail Thapa, T/O Shiva Baidya, T/O Mhalevinuo and T/O Karan Ghebring. The Accounts Officer was Squad. Leader Kishore Chanchal (INL Air Wing). The PI Staff included Subedar Soku Kom, Hav. Vikhiye and Hav. Mon Bahadur.On the night of 27th March 2015, there was a very colourful cultural programme which was held at the Chapel Hall of Livingstone School Hostel which was attended by the Chairman of LFHSS Mr. Andrew Ahoto and his wife Mrs. Ani Yepthomi. The function was marked by the distribution of prizes to participating cadets as well as various other presentations.The camp came to a close on 28th March 2015 after the closing lecture given by the Camp Commandant, Col. Bharadwaj.
