FAREWELL FOR CLASS-12 STUDENTS (ARTS &SCIENCE)

The management, teachers and students of Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School bid adieu to the outgoing Class-12 students from both Arts as well as Science streams in a colourful and memorable Farewell Function organized by the Class-11 students and the management on the 21st of February 2015 at the School’s Chapel Hall.

The programme which started at 10 am was compered by Mr. Yanglise Sangtam and Ms. Odijungla Imchen, both from Class-11 Arts. The invocation prayer was led by Ms. Mhasevinuo, Chaplain. It was followed by numerous entertaining items including songs and dances presented by the Class-11 students as well as the outgoing students from Class-12. Prominent speakers in the programme included the Chairman, Mr. Andrew Ahoto; the Administrator, Mr. Arthur Edwards; Mr. G.C. Baruah (HOD, Science Dept.) and Mr.J.R. David(HOD, Eng. Dept.).

Mr. Andrew Ahoto, the Chairman of the School in his speech called upon the students to educate not only their minds but also their hearts. He underscored the importance of educating the heart citing the examples of the violence, terrorism and devastation around the world. He also asked the outgoing students to remember their teachers and the school as a part of their family and also to make the school proud through their achievements. Earlier in the programme, the Administrator Mr. Arthur Edwards encouraged the students to imbibe the value of serving the humanity through education. He reminded the gathering about the motto of the school “Learn to Serve” and called upon the outgoing students to emulate this motto in their future lives by serving and teaching their children to serve humanity through their good deeds.

Some of the other highlights of the function included the presentation to the outgoing Class-12 students which was done by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Coordinator of Primary Section, speeches on behalf of the outgoing students given by Wellenchila Chang of Class-12(Arts) and Kewimesin Nriame of Class-12(Sc). The programme came to a close at around 2pm with the benediction prayer which was said by Mrs. Nisheli Edwards, Co-Administrator of the school followed by a sumptuous lunch at the Main Dining Hall for both the students as well as the teachers.
