DISASTER MANAGEMENT MOCK DRILL BY LFI STUDENTS

 

Livingstone Foundation International had a tryst with disaster management on 21st November 2019 when its students and mentors participated in a mock drill at the Junior High Campus which was initiated by the Dimapur District Disaster Management Authority (DDDMA) with the active assistance of 10 students and 1 mentor in-charge, Mr. Karan Ghebring who had participated in a briefing meet with officials of DDDMA at the DC Office Complex on 20th November 2019.
During the said meet on 20th November 2019, students and mentors from 3 colleges along with those from LFI participated where they were given a briefing on disaster management and divided into various groups. Also the location for the Mega Mock Drill was also selected. The scenario that was created for the role play on the Mock Drill was of a severe flood situation which was enacted by the 10 member team led by the mentor in-charge.
The drill started at around 12:00 Noon and went on for around an hour during which various aspects of taking stock of emergency situations like floods were described by the officials of DDDMA. Students from both the Junior as well as Senior High witnessed the mock drill. At the end of the programme the students who had taken part in the drill were felicitated by the DDDMA officials with cash awards.
