ONE DAY TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR DEOs & SCHOOL HEADS 2019

 

A one-day Training Programme for DEOs and School Heads was organized by State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in collaboration with National Innovation Foundation (NIF) at the SCERT Conference Hall, Kohima on 11th June 2019.
The training programme was pertaining to “Process in nomination of children for INSPIRE-MANAK Scheme” from the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The training was of paramount nature as the nomination from Nagaland State has gone down drastically since the introduction of internet based nomination. Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) – Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge (MANAK) Scheme is open for both Government and Private Schools for children studying in Classes-VI to X. This scheme has lots of scope for developing concepts in science and gives avenue to work with scientists.
The training programme was attended by Mr. Zakir Hussain and Mr. Swapnanil Talukdar on behalf of Livingstone Foundation International. The programme was divided into two sessions. The first session from 9:00AM to 12:00 Noon was conducted for DEOs and School Heads of Kohima District while the second session from 12:15 PM to 3:00 PM was conducted for DEOs and School Heads of Dimapur District.
Under the INSPIRE scheme, children will carry out projects on three areas ;

  1. Purely based on individual innovation, ideas and imaginations.
  2. Already existing system to be upgraded, and
  3. Care for the uncared.
The projects have to be in five sentences and should be submitted to the District Level Organisation which will be sent up to the State Level and National Level respectively. For carrying out these projects the Department of Science & Technology will be providing assistance of Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 10 Lakhs.
