It was indeed a proud and solemn moment for the Stonites when Pastor Benny Prasad visited Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School on 28th January 2019. Pastor Benny was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Zanbeni and an accompanying guest, Mrs. Lobilo. His visit is part of a month long Nagaland Tour which he is undertaking across the State.
Pastor Benny and his team were heartily welcomed by the Chairman of LFHSS, Dr. Andrew Ahoto and the Director, Mrs. Ani Yepthomi. The programme which was hosted at the School’s Auditorium began at around 12:30 PM and was led by Mr. Zakir Hussain, Coordinator as the Compere. The Welcome Address was said by the Chairman. In his short speech, Dr. Andrew Ahoto welcomed the dignitaries to the School and expressed his deepest thanks to Pastor Benny for having graced the school with his visit. He spoke of Benny Prasad as a man of a rare talent and believed that the students would really benefit from his interactions.
Pastor Benny and his wife inspired and enthralled the gathering of students and mentors with their soulful musical renditions like ‘One Moment at a Time’ by Whitney Houston and a Panpipe version of ‘You Raised Me Up’. During his interaction with the gathering, he spoke from his and his wife’s lives’ examples that God can use anyone, however weak or down-trodden, for His Kingdom if one is ready to devote one’s life for His glory. He spoke of his life’s initial struggles wherein he had to face numerous upheavals and challenges early on due to his voice and a failing health due to asthma and spinal problem. But according to him, it was his ardent faith in God that changed the phase of his life and he became a sensation among his College friends and soon he was travelling places across the globe glorifying God and his miraculous ways.
He encouraged the students to be dedicated and have a goal and purpose in life. Thereby, according to him, they would not have to struggle in life after completing their studies. He felt that students in Nagaland were not focused about their careers and do not have a clear set of goals while studying. He also challenged the students to be very serious about their passions including their academics and to shy away from developing unrealistic and injurious relationships during their teen age and to focus only on their career and life. These relationships, according to him led to broken lives, drugs and alcoholism.
Earlier, Pastor Benny and his team were felicitated by Mrs. Ani Yepthomi, Director who also said the closing prayer at the end of the programme.
